Why you need this pattern:
Do you like body suits? Do you like wrap skirts? If you’ve answered yes to any of these questions this pattern is for YOU! You guys, I’ve had this one in my stash for YEARS (2021 ish) along with the fabric and just got around to sewing it up! McCall’s 7606 is a pattern I plan to make on repeat… just saying. Have you ever finished a project and said to yourself, “I should have made that sooner.”? ✋ Welp, this is definitely one of those projects!
Fun Facts:
When I put this set on I immediately felt like “a woman”. The flow of the skirt with the slit in the front, the way the body suit fits and the cold shoulder cut was right up my alley! And honey these fall colors are poppin’! Of course you know I had to make a few little tweaks to this pattern to make it my own. Originally view A is a short sleeved body suit with straps and view B is a long sleeved body suit with no straps and ruching in the center. I mixed and matched the 2 together to come up with my version. Having a larger bust, I found that this option gave me more “security” if ya know what I mean!
Final Thoughts:
You guys have got to get this pattern, if not for the bodysuit ALONE! The fit is amazing and you could easily sew up multiple seasonal options. Think swimsuit and coverup for summer, short-sleeved body suit and light airy skirt for spring and maybe a wool wrap skirt for fall/winter with some cute knee high boots! Last I checked, this pattern is in the $4 bin over on Simplicity.com, so go snag yourself one before it’s OOP!
Fabric Choices:
Here’s a shocker, I actually got my fabric at Joann this time! As I mentioned earlier, it was years ago, but I think they’re still available. For the bodysuit I used a double-brushed knit and for the skirt I used a large floral printed rayon challis. Alternatively, for the bodysuit you could use; jersey, ribbed knit or interlock and for the skirt; crepe or a stable knit.
