Louis Vuitton Wanted $3400 For This Dres. I Made My Own!

While taking a glance at Louis Vuitton’s Fall 2024 line, I spotted this sleeve tie knit dress that I absolutely adored!

It immediately made me think of New Look pattern 6650.

I pulled out the pattern and began to sketch all of the edits I would need to make to get the look I was going for. I decided to keep the neck line, but I needed to;

1. Lengthen the sleeves
2. Add a Cuff
3. Replace the front ties with sleeves
4. Add a bottom Band
5. Shorten the Dress

Using elements from Simplicity 9337 I drafted my sleeves, sleeve ties for the front of the dress, sleeve cuffs and added a bottom band to the dress.

I got 2 colors of sweatshirt knit fabric from Gail K. Fabrics for this project. I decided on 2 yards of maroon for the main body of the dress and 2 yards of black for the contrasting sleeve/ties and sleeve bands for the front of the dress.

I’m thrilled with how my project turned out, not to mention I saved $3400!
