The Tweed collection, where do I begin? You guys this is my 1st ever mini collection and I am now in love with the idea of collections. The opportunity to create multiple garments and tie them together with a common theme is so exciting!

My inspiration for this blazer dress came from a $812 Wolf & Badger dress I saw online and fell in love with. I started the mission of finding a pattern to be the base for my garment. I chose KnowMe 2034 by Beaute’ J’adore. Then, I drew a sketch of how I would edit the pattern to look more like my inspiration.

I ended up leaving out the welt pockets, closing the seam on the back of the sleeves and changing the placement of the pockets. I’m so pleased with how my 1st piece turned out!

After sewing up piece one of my mini collection, I still had about two yards of fabric left over. I picked up my blush colored Boucle’ Tweed from Zelouf Fabrics during a Black Friday sale. Even though it was “on sale” it was still pretty pricey and I didn’t want to waste an inch!

After searching for patterns I could make in tweed with two yards of fabric or less, I stumbled upon this super cute mini dress pattern with collar from McCall’s spring line. McCall’s 8552 did not dissapoint! This fully lined, stylish dress was just what I needed. I think it’s the perfect ending piece for my Tweed mini collection!
These are the two patterns I used to create my mini collection:
