Inspiration Behind the Collection
When I began dreaming about this collection, I turned to Genesis 9:13–17, where God sets the rainbow in the clouds as a sign of His covenant—a promise of faithfulness, hope, and new beginnings. The rainbow represents beauty after the storm, and I wanted to capture that message in fabric and thread. Each garment in the God’s Promise Collection was chosen with care, reflecting a different facet of that covenant: structure, flow, vibrancy, and grace.

Vogue 2036 – The Crown of Elegance
To start off this collection, I used Vogue 2036, a formal and dramatic design that became the crown of the collection. With its sophisticated tailoring, this garment feels celebratory—like standing in awe beneath a rainbow after the storm has passed. It captures the elegance of God’s covenant and serves as a reminder that His promises are not only faithful, but also beautiful.

New Look 6095 – The Foundation
I continued with New Look 6095, a classic sheath dress pattern that offers clean lines and timeless structure. To me, this design symbolized the foundation of the promise. Just as the rainbow rests on God’s unshakable word, this dress rests on simplicity and strength. I chose fabrics that brought out subtle colors and textures reminiscent of dawn after rain, a quiet reminder of renewal.

McCall’s 8197 – The Flow of Grace
Next came McCall’s 8197, with its beautiful, flowing silhouette. This pattern reminded me of how grace moves—freely, softly, and without boundaries. The drape of the fabric catches light in a way that feels alive, much like how a rainbow shifts as you move. Sewing this piece was like painting with fabric, allowing the garment to capture the promise of God’s continual presence.

New Look 6493 – Joy in Movement
The New Look 6493 jumpsuit added a playful, modern touch to the collection. With its wide legs and chic style, it embodies joy in movement. I wanted this piece to reflect the vibrancy of the rainbow, the kind of joy that lifts your spirit and reminds you of the beauty in God’s creation. I leaned into bolder colors here, celebrating that rainbow spectrum.

McCall’s 8088 – Wrapped in Promise
For this piece, I turned to McCall’s 8088, a wrap dress pattern that feels both elegant and comforting. I chose a stunning blue fabric, a color that instantly reminded me of the sky after the rain—the very canvas where God placed His rainbow as a covenant with the earth.
The wrap style itself carries deep symbolism for me: it’s a garment that enfolds and embraces, much like God’s promises. Just as the rainbow is a reminder of His covering love, the wrap dress feels like being wrapped in that promise. The blue fabric moves gracefully, catching the light in a way that recalls the stillness and clarity that follows a storm.
This dress became a centerpiece of the collection, embodying peace, assurance, and the gentle beauty of God’s covenant.

McCall’s 7900 – Layers of Hope
Lastly, I used McCall’s 7900, a shirt pattern, I explored the idea of layers. A rainbow itself is made of layers of color, and this garment mirrors that concept. This piece is versatile, reminding me of how God’s promises are not limited to one moment but unfold in layers throughout our lives. The construction was an exercise in patience and detail, much like waiting on God’s timing.

Closing Reflections
The God’s Promise Collection was more than just a sewing project—it was a meditation on hope, beauty, and faithfulness. Every stitch carried meaning, every fabric choice reflected a piece of the rainbow. Genesis 9:13–17 reminds us that God’s promises never fail, and through this collection, I wanted to embody that eternal truth in wearable form.
