Why you need this pattern:
I recently sewed up these Amazing fall joggers using Simplicity pattern 9337. In my opinion, this is the BEST sewing pattern for joggers! If you’ve ever wanted a pair of comfy, cozy joggers that fits you just right in all the right places look no further! If you’re ready to start this project, scroll down to my in depth video tutorial or, if you want to know “all the things” keep reading.
Adjustments:
From looking at the pattern envelope I knew the joggers as they were would be a little too short for my liking so I added a full 2 inches of length to the front and back pattern pieces before cutting out my fabric. I’m 5’9 so most joggers tend to be short on me. For my tall girlies standing in the back of the photos (IYKYK), you can thank me later!
If you’re a beginner sewist or you’ve been sewing for years, this is the perfect pattern for you! There are no darts, buttons or zippers here, so this can easily be a 1-2 day sew.
Final Thoughts:
The most challenging part will probably be adding the buttonholes to the waistband/casing so you can add your drawstring in later. There is a full elastic waistband, so if you don’t want a drawstring you can skip the button holes and voila! Options my friends…options.
Atlanta gets pretty darn cold in the fall and winter months, so I will definitely be wearing these joggers to stay warm all season long!
Fabric Choices:
I used the most Amazing charcoal gray sweatshirt knit from my stash that I snagged at Gail K. Fabrics in Atlanta. This fabric is so incredibly soft and warm you guys! Alternatively you could use; cotton lycra, jersey, or bamboo knits. If you want to sew yourself up a pair be sure to check out my sew-along!
Notions:
- 1 1/2″ wide elastic
- 1/2″ wide twill tape or ribbon to match your fabric (or contrasting color if you’re feeling frisky 😉)
- a scrap of fusible interfacing for buttonholes

Hey Ms Haute I have been watching you off and on since you started. I pray that God is a lamp on to your feet and a light unto your path. I love your calm tranquil demeanor something so needed in clothing construction.
Maybe on day you can do a video on were home sewing is going. With big brand names finding themselves in alot of trouble or going out of business do you think we are going in a large circle back to where clothing construction started, in the home. I have been researching this for over ten years. I am working on something to aid others in their pursuit of sewing their own clothes. I call whats occurring in our culture the decentralization of clothing construction. Sorta like the decentralization of public school is another big circle, cooking at home instead out to dinner, making your own music will be a home activity also. All things and more we as Americans did at the turn of the 1900s are coming home.
We have been prisoners for far long to fit, color, style and construction of whoever runs the show in Paris NY LA and years ago Milan. I think now we can break out of the fast fashion prison and start to see real unique fashion from the people. No more of the washing machine of same the fashion over over again, now I think in the coming years the creativity of the women and men will finally be unleashed, where is a need there is a way. It is a great time for home sewers to be alive.

Hi Donna, first off, thanks for your continued support! I actually pray that prayer often! I agree that a lot of people are going back to doing things themselves and making clothes is no exception. I’m glad that you’re working on a way to aid people in sewing their own clothes. That’s great! The fashion industry can be a bit repetitive, so I’m excited to see home sewers mixing it up! God bless you!
